Soooo "Fight Club" is a really excellent film. I will probably rant about it a good deal... when I can actually stop thinking anything but:

NELLY NELLY NELLY NELLY NELLY NELLY NELLY NELLY NELLY NELLY NELLY NELLY NELLY NELLY

NELLY NELLY NELLY AND ALSO NELLY

WITH ALSO SOME NELLY

O_O YOU GUYS.

Especially this part:

(alternately:

LIKE, THIS IS AN ACTUAL LINE. GUYS.

JUST.

YOU GUYS.

[00:22] A Raven!: we should all pretend to be guys dressing as girls. *nodnod* This should happen next time we get together, for serious.
[00:22] oberonzlt: OH ,
[00:22] oberonzlt: OH MY GOD.
[00:22] oberonzlt: YES.

Not that that isn't kind of my life already. But, um. Yes. Mitch, you will actually have to pretend to be a girl pretending to be a guy dressing as a girl. Just because that would be ridiculous and a little hilarious.

Outfit planning, because I'm ridiculous!

Definitely those heels with the strappy and the pretty aaaand maybe the purple tights with the little stars on them but Clare has some gorgeous thigh-highs that I might steal because thigh-hiiighs. ... Why does outfit planning get so much more difficult beyond footwear? Um. Okay, a skirt. Ooh! Ooooooh, maybe Clare will also let me borrow that skirt she got with the tiers and the stripes and the YES. Aaaand then I'll bind and then a shirt will maybe happen, but I don't care about those. Why is my hair short, that's terrible. I need to ~style~ it! Oh well, there's still a bit of styling OH MY GOODNESS I COULD DO A FAUXHAWK OH YES I AM SURE THAT WILL NOT WORK BUT I AM GOING TO TRY. And then makeup, and whenever I do ~pretty~ I go "natural," but that's less fun. I've got a red worthy of Regina Spektor though, so I'll see if I can't do something with that, or else it's the lovely, tasty, sparkly, but not nearly bold as I'd like "Tutte Dulce" ... or the blue lip liner all over, which I'd really rather reserve for glam. I've got no good eye stuff, which is terrible, and I don't really know how to use it, even if I did. Maybe some creams and browns. Makeup is a lot easier to do in drawings. Hmh.

Oh man, gloooves. I can totally borrow some from work. --Best perk ever, right? We are such a fancy teashop with our hats and boas and gloves and purses~.

...

[01:22] A Raven!: I want a snickers bar.
[01:23] oberonzlt: you always want a snickers bar!
[01:23] A Raven!: I do not!
[01:23] A Raven!: ...yes I do.

Oh man. Cecil, you and me, friend. I feel like that is my whole life. Also, the next time I go to the beach, I swear to God I am going to wear a bikini and a ruff and a wimple.

In other news, this fic right hurr makes me happy in my hideous little soul: http://watchmenkink.livejournal.com/638.html?thread=392574#t392574 You should read it flist, and the comments too.

My tummy hurts. My hummy turts. Tuuuuurts, damn you. :( Alas.

Do you know what is weird? Holding Zoe's brother's hand. That kid is adorable and the most sullen ever and wtf we held hands for a long damn time until I SAW A FALCON and tried to sneak up on it, except I was bad at being invisible. I'm actually frequently bad at being invisible, did you know. Ralph Ellison does not narrate my life and also I pay for my electricity. I'm not actually sure why I'm still talking about this.

Nicky's birfday was the day before yesterday, so the family went to dinner, which was not very delicious and hella-overpriced, but YOU GUYS MY DAD TOLD A POOP JOKE ABOUT BEETHOVEN DO YOU WANT TO HEAR IT YES YOU DO.

OKOK.

WHAT'S BROWN AND SITS ON A PIANO BENCH?

BEETHOVEN'S LAST MOVEMENT.

HAHAH. AHAHAHAHA, no I actually couldn't stop laughing. It's the worst joke I've heard in a long time, by which I mean the best joke I've ever heard. Possibly the best part was Dad's delivery-- it's not like 'here is a poop joke, ho ho, how crass,' HE COULD HARDLY EVEN DELIVER THE PUNCHLINE HE WAS LAUGHING SO HARD. MY DAD THINKS BEETHOVEN POOPING IS HILARIOUS. WHAT A GOOD MAN.

We also went through all the terrible dead baby and para/quadriplegic jokes we knew and laughed a lot because we're bad people. The best part of that segment was mom laughing so hard she was practically crying, and keening "Sheee haaad nooo arrrrmssssss!!!!" In an upscale restaurant that none of us were dressed for. Sometimes my family is kind of neat.

Nicky was evidently a very good boy this year, because he received sand art from mother. Yeah, I don't even, and neither did he. Possibly my mother's drinking problem and Craig's List do not go well together. Or... maybe...she...? No, I have no idea. Whatever, it's quite pretty, only this is my now-17-year-old brother we are talking about. Dad got him Windows 7, which Nicky was really really excited about for some reason. I'm beginning to suspect my brother is a little weird, guys.

I really hope he has an actual party this year, because, obviously friends and social things and whatever, but also he is such a good boy and he deserves nice presents. I'm taking him out for dessert and frolicking either this afternoon or tomorrow, and all I got him are new earbuds because he asked for them ._. I am unoriginal. I know he probably definitely wants video games, but I have no money for thems, so. Sorry, Nicky. Someday I will be rich (HAHA) and I will fucking well turn your room into a ball pit with a trampoline floor yes I will.

Zoe, I miss the hell out of you, goddamn sir, and I had a rather odd dream involving some manner of boarding school or summer camp that was also a musical a little bit and we were dressed as people who were dressing as us and I don't know what that part was but then we RPed James Potter/Remus Lupin and I don't even and we are never doing that because you me and "Harry Potter" are not friends, son. PLUS THE MARAUDERS ARE FURRYS YEAH I WENT THERE.

My hummy does not turt anymore and HOLY GOD I TOTALLY FORGOT WE CALLED KURTZ'S MISTRESS VICTORY WOMAN BECAUSE OF THE WHOLE \o/ THING HAHA. Conrad, you never knew you had emoticons in your novella, did you. I bet you didn't. Yessir. Man, we still need to write Marlow/Kurtz/Wilderness/the Russian.

I am going to revamp my journal today because this layout has sucked for a long time. Also, do I really not have a tag for Nelly? Madness!

EDIT: not very pretty as layouts go, but functional. and Prufoctastick!

("or a cardboard stand-up/ and paint me [paint me anything] any face that you wanted to be seen with...")

Suddenly things are rolling again? Called Mrs. Ross and we're doing a meeting about the exhibition tomorrow evening, not that I've finished my paintings-- but I guess I'll see what I can do about that tomorrow? I'm really more excited about publishing some of the writing I did up at the Farm, which is going to happen, so yay. We'd talked about doing book-form, but who knows. It'll be out there, which is enough.

Mrs. Ross is something of a... strange woman, but very nice and also introducing me to all sorts of people who can help me do college things and publishy things! Awesome. And if I get blackmailed into taking her night painting class, well I can deal with that. I miss painting anyway.

I'm excited to see the crowd from the farm again, except, augh, Ben, random kid who I hardly talked to but apparently fell in love with me and sends me all sorts of letters that I should reply to, but don't. I... suppose with any luck I'll set him straight and things won't be awkward and weird? Anyway, I'd love to see Kim and Gloria and Kai and Tori and... all those people I should have kept in touch with but didn't... Wonder if Nam still has all those pictures we did at the old barn and with the dilapidated bicycle and the tractor-- not that I plan on getting into ~modeling~ again, but they were great photos and I'd like to put some copies into a portfolio and keep them just in case.

Ok, pack for Brevard tonight, get up tomorrow for the 9:30 appointment with the new chiatrist which will hopefully not take forever, then go to the parents' and work on paintings, then get to Mrs. Ross's by 5, then go back to the parents? And get a ride uptown to get my ticket and take the 9:35 Greyhound to Brevard. Or maybe pick up the ticket tomorrow instead of Saturday so I don't have to be there an hour early? Possibly. Aaaaand avoid discussion with the parents because if they hassle me about going up to see That One I will kill things and cry and I'm really done with doing that maybe forever. Yes.

Mm, not feeling commas today. Here's some extra-- distribute wherever you'd like: ,,,,,,,,,,,,,.

What (if any) books would you ban from a high school library? Are there certain subjects that you feel are inappropriate for teenagers regardless of literary merit?

[22:53] oberonzlt: yeeeaaah, but Greece died as the center of everything when the Roman dicks took over
[22:53] oberonzlt: it didn't progress all that much more than everywhere else in the AD
[22:54] A Zoe!: yeah, and whose fault was that?
[22:54] oberonzlt: yeah I know!
[22:54] A Zoe!: the Roman dicks, that's who
[22:54] oberonzlt: but it remains that Rome was the center of thought and art and shit in the AD
[22:54] A Zoe!: fuck AD

[22:57] oberonzlt: FUCKING THEM
[22:57] A Zoe!: dude, the Roman dicks did vomitoriums more than the Greeks

[22:58] A Zoe!: much less awful than /b/, actually
[22:58] oberonzlt: That's because NOTHING IS WORSE THAN b

Ssooooo, most worrisome text I have ever received:

"Someone told me you look like a porn star when naked."

From GRACE, OH GOD.

My first reaction was "WHA-- oh, she's Clare's sister and Clare is my roommate."

...Grace: "And it wasn't Clare."

So my thought process goes something like this:

Who else in God's name has seen me naked? Oh hell, recreational nudist, right. Okay, well. Zoe, duh. But she doesn't use comparisons such as "like a pornstar" and also maybe wouldn't say "porn" to Grace. Raven? Doesn't say the word "porn," period. Mitch? Also doesn't say "porn" and also probably averted his eyes the hell away because that boy was born a damn priest. Laurlaur? Very likely, but we haven't heard from her in ages. My ex? Hell no. Uhhhhhhhmmmm... My doctor? My mom? God? I BET IT WAS GOD.

Grace: It was Taylor.

OHHH IT WAS TAAAAAYLOR. Well that makes sense. Because of that time when Molly and Chris and Taylor and I played pin-up dress up. I got a really pretty bra of Molly's from that experience and I still have it :D. ...Haha, I love Taylor. HAY TAYLOR, I LOVE YOU. Dear God, I miss the hell out of that girl. Bleh. Cool things that are going on right now (in attempt to counter the above fail):

`My roommates are really cool. Ivory is so cute with her current obsession with spiders. She got a bunch of spider-type books from the internet and gives me random facts all the time. Also we reviewed all the bones in the body for her biology exam and struggled to find fun mnemonics to remember them. It was neat. Robert is a huge dork and a superhero and listens to police radio feed on the internet because he is awesome. Additionally, I am so glad I am rooming with Clare because we hang around in the nuddy all the damn time and don't bother to knock and it's very freeing. I am glad there are such chill human beings on the planet. My other roommates are neat, but not around as much.

`I'M GETTING PAID MINIMUM WAGE FROM NOW ON SWEET.

`Camping with That One on the 10th! :D

`GLAMROCK WATCHMANS FOR HALLOWEEN AW YEEEAH

`YAY FALL. ...Maybe not so much YAY SHORTER DAYS AND LONGER NIGHTS because Seasonal Affective Nonsense, but it's lovely and cool and I like sweaters.

Is probably the best IM I've ever received.

Today was moderately eventful. My asthma was hideously bad from cleaning the shop yesterday, so Robert put me on some oxygen and I went to visit my mother down at Urgent Care, which was not all together unpleasant, minus the not-breathing part. I... definitely pretended I was Mr. Goodwin for a little while, not going to lie. But then I realised I was not cool enough to even remotely do it correctly, so I stopped. Anyway. Much better now, only I'm huffing powdery spray out of a purple frisbee that I swear was manufactured by Veidt Enterprises.

See?

--And speaking of, where does everyone keep getting that Nelson is asthmatic? Is it that guidebook thing? Bet it is. In any case, I consoled myself by pretending I was a young not-breathy Nelly last night when I kept waking up to cough. :D ... I've decided that this is a useful coping mechanism and life skill, and not...um, delusional.

I swear I intended for this post to be interesting. Wonder what happened...

Oh! I've half-convinced Nicky to dress as Glam Rock Night Owl for Halloween! He seemed okay about the makeup, but I don't think he'll be very amendable to the flamboyant clothing. Makes me think of that time when we were small and I was putting on a ballet with the cousins and got Nicky  to wear the tights, but not a shirt over them. And then a tutu, later, but I swear that was his idea. It wasn't even a very pretty tutu. --Like, Nicholas, if you're okay with the makeup, what do the flamboyant clothes matter? You'd look probably just as silly with the makeup and a regular Night Owl costume! Or in just a regular Nite Owl costume!

But he was saved my wheedling when he mentioned that Nite Owl's "mask thing" (That's called a cowl, Nicky) was really cool and that he wanted to steal his goggles. Because then I launched into a barrage of praise regarding his excellent taste in super heroes. And then he grudging admitted that Dan and Rorschach were, let me see "In gay love together." MY BROTHER IS PRETTY COOL GUY WHO DOESN'T AFRAID OF ANYTHING. :D

Yep.

That was my song. Yes. Okay.

First of all: HAH I've seen an early screening of "9" and it was neat. I expect some 5/2 fairly soon, Internet *wags finger*

Best of all: IMMA BE A SUPERHERO 8D. Sort of. Robert and Thomas and I are starting our vigilante-style security patrols of campus tomorrow night. Because Robert is tired of trying to organise a real Student Patrol. And because this is way cooler, yes it is.

So. Yes. ...Not that I actually approve of vigilante justice. But this is not justice, it's just helping people, mostly. Like, "oh, here, have some CPR because you are unwell," and "oops, that was a car accident. We will help you with this," and the like. Robert and Thomas have done this a bit before and say that's mostly what it is. That and reporting security issues and maybe calling the police on people and trying to pacify them until police get there.

Hush, all of you. This is the closest I can get to being a superhero right now. And it's going to be awesome.

Not to mention badass rather than ass-kissing, since we're not technically a sactioned university... thingy. organisation. Like, they don't really mind us running around playing cowboys and indians, but they don't actaully approve. I don't know, that makes it better for some reason. Plus, that means zero paperwork and no silly beurocracy to get in the way of actaully doing things and helping people.

I am excited about this!

And someday I will update with substance. Someday.
